ENERGY CENTRE BRATISLAVA OPET SLOVAKIA
The Energy Centre Bratislava is a non-governmental, not-for-profit
information and consulting organisation which has been working
in the Slovak Republic since 1993. In 1998, the Energy Centre
Bratislava and the Slovak Energy Agency became a member of the
EU OPET/FEMOPET network.
Mission
The mission of the Energy Centre Bratislava is to promote the
rational use of energy and the utilisation of renewable sources
of energy. This mission is carried out by the following:
transfer of innovative energy technologies and support
in implementation
participation in national and international RTD projects
concerning energy efficiency
data collection and elaboration of energy information
direct advising and consulting services to industry,
SMEs and private households
organisation of seminars, training courses, workshops,
trade fairs and conferences
promotion and dissemination of new energy technologies
by publications, brochures and leaflets
preparation of information for the media
The target groups
that the ECB influences include the public sector, industry,
small and medium enterprises, universities and households.
History of ECB
1992
DG XVII entrusted the O.Ö. Energiesparverband (ESV) Linz,
Austria to build up and operate the ECB
1993/95
Establishing of EC Energy Centre Bratislava as an institution
of the European Commission in the framework of the THERMIE
Programme
1995/96
ECB working as a part of the Energy Programme of the European
Commission - SYNERGIE Programme
1997/98
ECB handed over to the Slovak Government by the European
Commission and according to the decision of the Slovak Minister
of Economy, it became a department of the Slovak Energy Inspection
- Energy agency (SEI-EA), which is a state organisation.
1998/99
In December 1997 the ECB was entrusted to be the FEMOPET
Slovakia and from 1st January 1998 till 31st December 1999
it was working in the frame of FEMOPET Network ((Fellow Members
of the Organisations for Promotion of Energy Technologies).
1999
Since 1st January the ECB has been a non-governmental, not-for-profit
organisation, as an association of physical and legal persons
with the objective to promote and support the efficient use
of energy and the implementation of new and innovative energy
technologies.
2000
From 1st January 2000 a new OPET Network has been in operation
including candidate countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
The Energy Centre Bratislava has become OPET SLOVAKIA and
covers a discreet geographical area and focus on a targeted
set of actions that assist the implementation of new, clean
and efficient energy technologies
